Why your readiness score matters
Google's Performance Max ads are only as effective as the product data behind them. Products with weak titles, missing images, or incomplete attributes get less reach, lower quality scores, and worse auction results than products with strong, complete data.
FeedGraph's Google Ads Studio screen scores your catalog's PMax readiness across ten key areas — giving you a number you can track and improve over time.
Step 1: Open Google Ads Studio and run the scoring
Go to Google Ads Studio and click "Run readiness scoring". FeedGraph analyses your entire catalog against the ten readiness dimensions.
Step 2: Read your overall score and breakdown
FeedGraph shows an overall readiness score (0–100) and a breakdown by dimension:
- ▸Title quality — length, specificity, absence of promotional language
- ▸Image quality — resolution, background, product prominence
- ▸Description completeness — length, detail, absence of filler phrases
- ▸Price accuracy — match between catalog and website
- ▸Availability accuracy — in-stock status matches reality
- ▸GTIN/MPN coverage — percentage of products with identifiers
- ▸Category accuracy — Google Product Category assigned and correct
- ▸Brand coverage — brand field populated
- ▸Apparel attributes — color, size, gender, age group for apparel
- ▸Label coverage — custom labels assigned for campaign segmentation
Step 3: Fix the top issues
Focus on the dimensions dragging your score down the most. Common high-impact fixes:
Weak titles: Use AI Bulk Rewrite to generate Google-optimised titles across affected products. Google-optimised titles: 70–150 characters, lead with key attributes, no promotional language.
Missing images: Use AI Image Generation to produce clean white-background product images for products with low-quality or missing images.
Missing GTIN/brand: Run AI attribute extraction across products where these are missing. For own-brand products, bulk-fill the brand field directly.
Missing labels: Create segments for your key product groups (best sellers, high-margin, seasonal) and assign them as custom labels.
Step 4: Generate a supplemental feed
If you've fixed the major issues in your main feed but your score still has room to improve, FeedGraph can generate a supplemental feed — an additional data file that enriches your main Google Shopping feed with better titles, descriptions, and attributes without replacing the original.
Register the supplemental feed in Google Merchant Center alongside your primary feed.
Step 5: Re-run the score and track improvement
After making fixes, re-run the readiness scoring to confirm your score has improved. Most merchants see significant score improvement within the first two fix passes.
